Lucente SpA launches a new smart&flex working plan. Francesco Amendolito appointed HR Director.

Corporate social responsibility as the main driver of business development: attention to environmental, social and governance issues, accelerating on HR issues.

Thus, starting January 1, 2024, La Lucente SpA, recently awarded the Sustainability Award for the second consecutive year and elected a "Socially Responsible Company" by the Bari Chamber of Commerce, will launch a new smart and flexible working plan for its employees.

The initiative, strongly supported by the shareholders' meeting, composed of Dr. Silvia Volpe and Angelo Volpe, is aimed at balancing private and professional life and is part of a further step in the sustainable development path promoted by the Bari company.

The plan includes three days in person and two days remotely for all employees who perform administrative functions; hourly flexibility with which to manage the working day on a voluntary basis is guaranteed as well as the right to disconnect after office hours. Even the lunch break can be enjoyed whenever you prefer.

“The satisfaction and well-being of employees is now an essential objective for a sustainable corporate strategy – comments Francesco Amendolito, new HR director of La Lucente and editor of the plan. “La Lucente, a century-old company characterized by a profoundly innovative DNA, is ready to deal with new scenarios and promote a work culture based on policies and strategies aimed at guaranteeing a better work-life balance, further implementing principles such as inclusiveness and gender equality . We want to maximize the valorization of our talents and put our people at the center, also with the adoption of a smart&flex working system, which will contribute, we are sure, to improving the well-being, satisfaction and happiness of our employees."

The smart&flex working plan is promoted in conjunction with the publication of the latest sustainability report which reviews the objectives achieved in 2022 and aimed at increasing commitment to the environment. In particular, the Bari-based company has reduced its energy needs by increasing (+12% compared to 2021) the supply from renewable sources, while approximately 10% of the company fleet is now made up of electric vehicles. Furthermore, thanks to an employee education, awareness and information project on the conscious use of water, a water saving of 8% was recorded in all company offices.

The company - with over 2.000 people employed across the entire national territory, has received numerous awards for the results achieved in the field of sustainable development.

Among them, the prize 'Sustainability Award 2023' assigned by Altis, spin off of the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart of Milan, in collaboration with the consultancy firm Kon Group, to the 100 most sustainable companies according to the ESG rating levels - which evaluates the environmental, social and governance aspects of a company - issued by Reprisk . Lucente SpA was also recognized, within the 2022 Historic Enterprises Call, as “Socially Responsible Company” and awarded by the Bari Chamber of Commerce.

“The awards received this year and the objectives achieved in terms of ESG reward not only the investments earmarked for 2022 sustainability initiatives – declares Angelo Volpe, CEO of La Lucente SpA – but also the commitment of all our stakeholders; starting from our employees with whom we are launching the first smart working plan in the company's history. We will continue to add increasingly challenging objectives to our entrepreneurial path, hand in hand with a careful use of natural resources and respect for the community in which we operate".
