The experimentation of the ISC Tennant T7 AMR is underway
The Magna PT SpA plant in Modugno, the first in Italy to adopt plant cleaning solutions based on Artificial Intelligence and "Machine learning"
Safety, efficiency, enhancement of human resources, innovation are the main advantages offered by La Lucente SpA
Bari-Turin, 27 July 2021. Transition 4.0 also in the field of cleaning services. For the first time in Italy, in the factory Magna PT SpA – Magna Powertrain Group of Modugno (Bari), a self-driving washer-dryer is used. It is the Tennant T7 AMR, owned by the La Lucente company and imported into Italy from Turin ISC.
Safety, efficiency, enhancement of human resources, innovation: these are the main advantages of adopting self-driving machines for cleaning industrial plants. Thanks to the use of sophisticated sensors and innovative technologies ranging from artificial intelligence to "machine learning", in fact, the scrubber dryer is able to intercept obstacles and read the movement along its path, automatically activating the braking systems. Furthermore, it learns from every single path, speeding up and improving its interventions from time to time.
The teach-repeat mode is exclusive to the T7 AMR washer-dryer and gives it total washing autonomy, leaving the operators free to devote themselves to other complementary activities. Equipped with a camera and sensors, with a noise level of 70 dBA, it can operate in the presence of people in total safety and respect for the surrounding environment.
“Innovation – explains Wolfgang Müller, Assistant General Manager of MAGNA PT SpA – represents for Magna one of the main values that inspire us every day. It must not only be translated into our solutions but must be applied in all aspects of corporate life. For this reason we enthusiastically accepted to revolutionize the cleaning services of our plants, thanks to the solutions proposed by La Lucente SpA.”
The issue of safety is central. In our factory we work 24 hours a day, the cleaning area is characterized by the constant presence of movement and workers at work. The use of autonomous and sophisticated braking systems is an indispensable plus”.
Easy to program, Tennant T7 AMR constantly communicates with the operator by sending digital messages which also communicate the presence of any obstacles along the way. In Europe there are about 50 machines, while in the USA these tools are used for cleaning large shopping centres, supermarkets, hospitals and numerous places with large squares, subject to the constant presence of large volumes of people.
The international cleaning services market will reach 74 billion dollars by 2022, it is estimated that companies in the sector lose up to 55% of customers every year due to some critical issues in the services. The adoption of robotic tools can favorably affect this aspect, increasing the speed and uniformity of cleaning, using performance monitoring to optimize resources, reducing employee turnover. Furthermore, the adoption of robotic solutions helps to retain employees by improving their job satisfaction, as well as performance. “With less time spent on repetitive tasks, employees will be able to devote themselves to value-added activities” – comments Claudia Pollicoro, Production Manager of La Lucente SpA.
